Molenmarkt 2024

Muniroh’s Bakery first bakesale at Molenmarkt, Wageningen

I recently had the amazing opportunity to run a bake sale at the Molenmarkt in Wageningen, and wow, what an exhilarating experience! Not only was it a success, but it was also an unforgettable moment!

I have been busy baking the week of the Molenmarkt. I want to make sure that the menu also covers to those with dietary restrictions. I want to include many types: cake, brownies and cheesecakes. I have worked a lot preparing for the market, and then, the night before the Molenmarkt, I found out that my card reader wasn’t working. I was feeling a bit stressed and shared my concerned with my friends who were helping out. Their kind words and reassurance made me a bit of relief. They reminded me to relax, and I kept telling myself, “Even without the card reader, we’ve got QR codes and cash.”

On the day of the event, setting up the table took longer than I expected, but I wasn’t alone. My friends, along with their partners, all came to help. If it wasn’t for them, I’d probably still be setting up!

Once the event started, everything flew by. I was speaking to customers in English, Dutch (as best as I could!), and Bahasa, all while serving them. The hours passed fast because we were so busy, and before I knew it, we had sold out—in less than three hours! I was overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude. I even cried!

This day was special, not just because of the success but because of the incredible support from my friends and family. I couldn’t have done it without them. Thank you to everyone who helped me throughout my challenging period. You are the true definition of friendship, and I cherish you all. 😊
